Start living a life well lived with Well Yes!® Soups. Healthier mealtime choices are easy with these delicious, creative soups added into your day.
I have heard for years the expression “live a life well-lived” but I never really gave that phrase much thought until recently when I discovered Well Yes! Soups. As someone who has struggled with her weight for just about her entire life, the idea of starting once again down the road of healthy living and losing weight seemed quite daunting. You get to a point where you just don’t want to try anymore. When you have spent a lifetime making poor decisions when it comes to your health, the idea of major life changes and the inevitable failures that seem to follow, is really too much to think of starting once again.
But then there’s that phrase again.
I am somebody who has not taken very good care of herself over the years and living a life well-lived seems impossible. It is the little things like looking at old photographs and not seeing the good times captured but only seeing how unhealthy you think you look.
Okay, let’s lose the drama, you think you look fat.
Think of how many times you wanted to participate in something and your self consciousness and your weight held you back. Think of how many times you admired your friend who ran her first 5k marathon, knowing that you would probably not be able to finish or you would just drop out right there to the ground in the middle of the course. How many times have you gotten winded walking up the stairs of your house or hear (younger / thinner ) people laugh together and assumed it was at your expense or you went into a department store and realized they didn’t even have anything that would possibly fit your size. These are all things that hold us back from living a life well-lived.
For the most part I have been a healthy individual even though I am well past a size 6. I have started a bazillion (yes, BAZILLION) diets and ways of changing my eating over the years and nothing has ever stuck with me to become a permanent life change. I have done the exercise regimens (aka death by cardio) and I can hold my own for a big girl but there are times when I was pretty sure I was going to just fall down and not get back up. Have you heard of T25? I exercised so hard to that one day that I literally lost my hearing for a week. Don’t even ask, I can explain it, but I lost the hearing in one year for an entire week before it miraculously returned. Needless to say T25 was promptly put back into its DVD case and never seen again after that.
So many starts, so many failures.
Then came my yes moment. It was an unexpected moment and I couldn’t be more thankful for it. I was recently diagnosed with a medical condition, one that is not life-threatening or long-term but one that does require me to have an outpatient procedure to remedy. As it is, it came as a bit of a shock and although I know a full recovery is expected, it also occurred to me that my procedure and the recovery would be much easier on myself and my husband if I was able to lose some of the weight that I have been carrying around for so long. That opened up a whole new chapter for me. All of a sudden, change seemed not only necessary but welcome.
Don’t get me wrong, every other Friday night is probably still going to be a pizza night. #moderation
But making healthier choices and being glad about them has really been the key to my success. And one of those changes I’ve made is eating Well Yes! Soup every day for lunch. Trust me, if there was any excuse in the world for me to leave work, jump in my truck and drive the .5 miles down the road at lunchtime to my favorite fast food restaurant at least three times a week, believe me I did it. Like I said, it’s hard to make changes. But instead of hitting up that drive through, I have instead started adding Well Yes! soup into my lunch regimen, and surprisingly I don’t miss those extra value meals. Well Yes! Soups come in a huge variety of flavors, are made with real nutritious ingredients and non-gmo ingredients, can be found at a variety of major retailers and are so delicious you don’t even realize that you’re making a life choice for the better. My favorite flavor is the Sweet Potato Corn Chowder but honestly, I have tried all 9 flavors and they are all amazing!!!
*Disclaimer – Well Yes! Soups are not proven to promote weight loss.
I think that’s sometimes that is what holds us back, we are afraid of change and we are afraid that we are going to get stuck eating food that is miserable and sad and tastes horrifying but these Well Yes! Soups are so amazing! And they have so many varieties and creative food combinations that it is so easy to incorporate into your day. I still have a long way to go but substituting fast food with these amazing soups is a no-brainer and you don’t even have to think about what you are giving up because what you are getting back instead is so much better.
Is that you, too?
People are starting to notice the change and that always makes you feel good. But more importantly you know you are making healthier life choices for a bigger picture, a bigger reason. You need to do this for you and for your health. I certainly do not want to be a burden to my husband, and I don’t want there to be any complications to my procedure so making these life choices now are imperative.
