In my never ending quest to eat healthier without giving up the decadent flavors I love most, this Pumpkin Pie Smoothie is currently topping my list for New Favorite Go To Meals.

Anyone who has lived most of their life eating whatever they want knows how hard it is to make the change to healthier eating.

It doesn’t come overnight and it can bring forth a lot of difficult mealtime decisions and personal bartering but if you can start with one baby step, well, the next one is a little easier to take.

Besides, you totally feel like a bad-ass superhero when you can turn down chocolate glazed donuts and reach for your Pumpkin Pie Smoothie instead. #truestory

WHY YOU NEED THIS PUMPKIN PIE SMOOTHIE IN YOUR LIFE

This pumpkin spice protein smoothie is the perfect combination of rich pumpkin pie flavors and a hearty protein drink… what more could you ask for?

  • It’s packed with tons of protein to keep you energized
  • It tastes like you grabbed a pumpkin pie and threw it in a blender.. it’s THAT good!
  • It’s officially ‘pumpkin everything’ season and this pumpkin smoothie is better than that 600 calorie muffin
  • This pumpkin protein smoothie is creamy and made with just a few items you probably already have on hand
  • You don’t have to give up your XL coffee because you are saving calories eating a healthy breakfast (yesssss!!)
  • Pumpkin has tons of fiber, protein and other nutrients which makes this a healthy powerful smoothie.
  • This Pumpkin Pie Smoothie can be made in less than 5 minutes. It’s the perfect breakfast on the go.

To make this Pumpkin Pie Smoothie, you will need:

  • Frozen banana – super heart healthy and the creamy foundation to your pumpkin pie protein smoothie
  • Greek yogurt – creamy, sweet and packed with extra protein to keep those cravings away!  Plus Greek yogurt has twice as much protein as regular yogurt.
  • Fall spices – because you can’t have pumpkin pie without cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice.
  • Maple syrup – just a little bit for sweetness and that warm comforting flavor
  • Skim or soy milk – skim and soy milk add even more protein to this pumpkin smoothie.  You can also use nondairy milk but the protein will be less.
  • Pumpkin puree – loaded with tons of protein and fiber and adding perfect pumpkin flavor without having to cook your own pumpkin!
  • Ice – helps thicken up your smoothie
  • Vanilla – just a splash for extra flavor
  • Protein powder (optional) – add a scoop of your favorite protein powder to take this pumpkin pie smoothie to the next level.

PRO TIPS TO THE PERFECT PUMPKIN SMOOTHIE

  • I like to use my favorite Greek yogurt in this recipe but feel free to use non-Greek vanilla or plain yogurt instead but remember the protein count will be a bit lower. If you find pumpkin flavored yogurt, go for it too!
  • Any milk is fine to use for this Pumpkin Pie Smoothie, choose what you and your family like to use. Keep in mind to adjust the protein count accordingly!
  • If your pumpkin smoothie is too thick, add more milk to thin out. Too thin, add a few more ice cubes.
  • Make sure your banana is frozen. This is what makes this pumpkin smoothie creamy and taste like a milkshake.
  • This recipe will make 4 small or 2 large pumpkin smoothies. You can easily modify the amounts should you wish to make more or less.

The Smoothie sounds yummy . But the Cup Cakes are not only Beatifulllll but sound great !! I may even give them a try . My friends are certain that the thing in my kitchen with the spotless black glass top is for show . I sometimes do startle them with a defiant stab at COOKING/BAKING, and I maybe getting in the mood with the change in Seasons 🙂
