Ingredients

  • 8 oz wheel of brie cheese
  • 2 large Honeycrisp Apples cut into wedges
  • 1 cup walnuts toasted
  • 4 tbl Bourbon Salted Caramel Sauce

Bourbon Salted Caramel Sauce

  • 2 cup sugar
  • 12 tbl butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbl salt
  • 1 tbl bourbon

Instructions

Bourbon Salted Caramel Sauce

  • Start by making your caramel sauce. In a small saucepan over medium high heat, add sugar and stir until sugar is melted. It may clump, just keep whisking and cook until it turns a light amber color.
  • Once sugar is melted, add in butter and whisk until melted. Stir in bourbon. Remove from heat and add in cream and salt and whisk to incorporate. Set aside. Once cooled, you can pour into air-tight container and store in the refrigerator.

Baked Brie

  • Next, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and preheating oven to 325 degrees
  • Remove brie from wrapping and place on baking sheet.  Bake for 10-15 minutes.
  • While brie is baking, heat a small skillet over medium high heat.  Add walnuts and stirring constantly, cook until they look a shade darker and they smell toasty (just a few minutes)
  • Remove brie from oven and transfer to a serving platter.  Add cut apple slices to the platter and drizzle caramel sauce over the brie and top with the toasted walnuts
  • Serve immediately
