WHAT GIVES BOMB POP COCKTAILS THEIR RED, WHITE AND BLUE COLORS?
As much as I would love to say you just take a Bomb Pop Popsicle and let it melt in a glass, it’s not quite that easy. July 4th Red White and Blue Frozen Bomb Pop Cocktails are made with vodka, grenadine for the ‘red’ and blue curacao for the ‘blue’.
HOW DO YOU MAKE BOMB POP COCKTAILS?
Easy! To make your July 4th Red White and Blue Frozen Bomb Pop Cocktails, start by making a simple syrup by combining sugar and water in a microwave safe bowl and heating on High for 2 minutes. Remove and stir sugar until completely dissolved and then move to the refrigerator – COOL COMPLETELY (really really important!!.. trust me, I learned the hard way). Once cooled, add 2 oz of the simple syrup to your blender along with the lemon flavored vodka and 3 cups of ice. Blend on High until the ice reaches a slushy consistency.. add more ice if necessary.
Move the lemon ice to a glass and place in the freezer while you prepare the other layers. Add 2 oz of simple syrup to the blender with the cherry vodka and the Grenadine and then add 3 cups of ice. Blend on high until it reaches the slushy consistency and then move that to a glass and place into the freezer. Rinse out the blender.. and the top …. Add 2 oz of simple syrup to the blender with the raspberry vodka and the Blue Curacao and then add another 3 cups of ice and then blend on high until it reaches the slushy consistency. Take out the other two glasses from the freezer and spoon red white and blue layers into a tall glass. Serve immediately.
Now, melting into a puddle of blue eye shadow and frizzy hair from the heat and humidity would truly be tragic. This Fourth of July tragedy can be avoided by one easy step.
