HOW DO YOU TOP CREAMY MACARONI AND CHEESE?
You can top your Creamy Macaroni and Cheese any way you and your family like. I prefer to top my Creamy Macaroni and Cheese with .. um .. more shredded cheese and bake it until the cheese is all crunchy. You can also top your macaroni and cheese with breadcrumbs mixed with a bit of butter, crumbled Cheez-its or Doritos and even crumbled bacon.
CAN CREAMY MACARONI AND CHEESE BE FROZEN?
Yes! To freeze your Creamy Macaroni and Cheese, transfer the macaroni and cheese to a buttered 9-by-13-inch freezer-to-oven baking dish. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake your macaroni and cheese still frozen and covered with foil at 350° for 1 hour. Remove foil and broil for 2-3 minutes for the crunchy brown cheese topping, if that is what you like. Creamy Macaroni and Cheese can be frozen for up to 2 months.
HOW DO YOU MAKE CREAMY MACARONI AND CHEESE?
Easy! To make Creamy Macaroni and Cheese, start by preheating your oven to 375 degrees. Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to boil and prepare macaroni to box instructions, minus 3 minutes. Drain and set aside. In a large saucepan or skillet, melt butter. Once melted, add in flour and whisk to combine. Cook for 1 minute. Pour in milk and cream and spices. Bring to a low boil, whisking constantly. Once a low boil has been reached, add in cheeses and soup and continue to stir until sauce is creamy and smooth. Combine pasta and sauce and pour Creamy Macaroni and Cheese into a 9 x 13 baking pan. This super Creamy Macaroni and Cheese is easy to bring together, super quick to make and throw in the oven and is so creamy that you will want to share this dish with everyone you meet. Or maybe I should say you will want to make a second batch and share THAT with everyone you meet because you definitely are not going to want to share the first casserole dish with anybody, you’re going to want to eat all of that yourself. Either way, believe me, you are going to love this version of mac and cheese.
And for the record, totally not judging on the Creamy Macaroni and Cheese hoarding… not that I’ve ever personally done that.
