If there is one thing I have a weakness for, it’s fudge and this Layered Chocolate Peanut Butter Turtle Fudge is at the top of that list.

My very first real job was at a large retail craft store. We sold everything from doll heads to t-shirt paint to yarn. We also had a groovy air pop popcorn machine that would bring the store to it’s knees every time it ran because the smell of fresh buttered popcorn cannot be ignored, no matter how hard you may try. But even the hot buttered popcorn could not compare to the homemade trays of fudge. We sold chocolate fudge, vanilla, chocolate peanut butter, walnut and probably a few more flavors I cant remember now (it’s been a minute.. ) and I will be honest, we were not supposed to sample the fudge but I TOTALLY sampled the fudge and to this day, it’s honestly one of my favorite things to indulge in and that’s why this recipe for Layered Chocolate Peanut Butter Turtle Fudge just HAD to happen.

That is also why I can’t ever have Layered Chocolate Peanut Butter Turtle Fudge left unattended in my house for any amount of time .. #moderationwhat

HOW DO YOU KEEP FUDGE?

Whether you’re going to freeze your fudge, store it in a refrigerator or keep it at room temperature, to keep your fudge fresh, start by wrapping each piece of fudge in waxed paper, then place the fudge in an airtight container or a sealed zip top bag with the air pushed out.

HOW LONG WILL FUDGE KEEP IN THE REFRIGERATOR?

If kept at room temperature in a sealed container, fudge will keep for about 2 weeks but you can also keep the fudge in the fridge which will extend the life for 3 to 4 weeks. Fudge can also be frozen in airtight containers for up to 3 months.

  1. Number 3 directions should say ‘pour on top of fudge layer’, not’peanut butter layer’, right? Then number 5 directions should say ‘pour on top of peanut butter layer’. This was confusing so I hope I make it correctly.

    1. EEKKKK!! YES!! When I originally added the recipe I had my layers reversed so I corrected that but forget to fix #3 and #5… THANK YOU so much for asking 🙂
