Spicy BBQ Little Smokies, let me count the ways I love you! Spicy BBQ Little Smokies are a little bit sweet, they are a little bit spicy and are my Go-To party appetizer when it comes to potlucks, Game Day parties and holiday get togethers. Let’s be honest, any excuse to stab a little weenie covered in sauce and deposit it in ones tummy is always going to be a happy exercize in eating, in my opinion. Isn’t that really the whole point of hosting parties, especially around the holidays?  Friends and family are great but where exactly is the food table located, please? Yup.. me too!!

WHAT ARE LITTLE SMOKIES?

Little Smokies are just little smoked sausages.  You can get them regular or made with beef and even cheddar filled and the most popular brand seems to be Hilshire Farms Lit’l Smokies.

HOW DO YOU PREPARE LITTLE SMOKIES?

Little Smokies are already fully cooked so you really only need to heat them up.  You can warm them in a saucepan on the stove or in a slow cooker with sauce.  You can also use them in a variety of finger food appetizers like my Cheesy Mini Pigs In A Blanket.

HOW DO YOU MAKE SPICY BBQ LITTLE SMOKIES?

Easy! To make your Spicy BBQ Little Smokies, add your little smokies to your slow cooker.  In a medium sized bowl, combine together the ketchup, honey, soy sauce, garlic powder, brown sugar and sriracha.

Pour your spicy BBQ sauce over the little smokies and stir to coat. Set crockpot to Low and simmer for 3 – 4 hours or 2 hours on High.

Ingredients

  • 24 ounces Little Smokies
  • 1 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha hot sauce

Instructions

  • To make your Spicy BBQ Little Smokies, add your little smokies to your slow cooker.

Notes

I have made this recipe using two packages of Hilshire Farms Lit'l Smokies which is 24 ounces of smokies.  There is enough sauce made with this recipe that you could easily add another package or two of little smokies and still have enough sauce for them all if you wanted to make a big batch of the recipe for a party or a get together.
