If there is one thing I love about parties and get togethers, it’s the food.  I am just being totally honest here, we are just going to keep things real.  The house looks great, congrats on your promotion, kids sure do grow up so fast, blah blah blah … so, where’s the hot appetizer table again? #askingforafriend … Now that I have shared my dark hungry side with you, let me share another secret .. this Cheesy Bacon Jalapeno Dip recipe.  Cheesy Bacon Jalapeno Dip is the ultimate secret weapon when it comes to party food because this cheesy jalapeno popper dip recipe takes just 5 minutes to pull together and throw in the oven, everyone loves easy party appetizers and the best part is that this Cheesy Bacon Jalapeno Dip brings together all of your favorite jalapeno popper flavors without all of the mess and hassle of making jalapeno poppers.  So by mixing together just a few favorite ingredients that you probably already have on hand, you are rewarded with this warm cheesy appetizer that is bursting with flavor.  Did I mention there’s also bacon in this?  Mmm … bacon!

IS CHEESY BACON JALAPENO DIP SPICY?

The great thing about this recipe is that you control how spicy it is.  I added 3 large jalapenos from my local farmers market to this Cheesy Bacon Jalapeno Dip and the heat was perfect for me and my family.  If you like things a bit spicier, feel free to add more and in turn, if you don’t want you jalapeno dip to be too over the top, maybe only add in two jalapenos instead.  I also remove the seeds and ribs from my jalapenos before dicing up the peppers so that turns the heat down quite a bit, as well.

WHAT ABOUT THE BACON?

How is this Cheesy Bacon Jalapeno Dip hitting the oven in just 5 minutes if you are adding bacon?  I cheat, there … I said it! I am a huge fan of the pre-cooked bacon piece pouches you find in the salad topping section of your grocery store. It’s real bacon, it’s just already cooked and chopped for you. If you are not a fan of these, feel free to cook six bacon slices either on your stove top or in the oven and then add that chopped bacon to this recipe.  Both options are delicious, I just usually choose the pre-cooked bacon option because I have a husband and four dogs that can identify the smell of cooked bacon and then I have to make enough to feed the whole family 🙂

HOW DO YOU MAKE CHEESY BACON JALAPENO DIP?

Easy! To make this Cheesy Bacon Jalapeno Dip, preheat your oven to 350 degrees and spray a baking pan with non-stick spray. Reserve 3/4 cup of shredded cheese and a small bit of bacon and diced jalapeno and set aside. Add all of your remaining ingredients to a large bowl and using a hand mixer, mix to combine.

Spoon your dip into your baking pan, sprinkle with the reserved shredded cheese and toppings and cook for 25 minutes.
